Rapporter les espoirs, intentions et promesses

Pour rapporter une intention, un espoir ou une promesse, on utilise le verbe rapporteur approprié, suivi d'une proposition introduite par 'that' qui inclut 'would' ou d'un infinitif avec 'to'. Les verbes utilisés sur ce modèle comprennent : hope, promise, threaten, guarantee, & swear. Notez que le mot 'that' est facultatif, comme dans le premier exemple ci-dessous.

"I will not tell anyone your secret" he said. He swore that he would not tell anyone my secret. OU
He swore not to tell anyone my secret.
